Bellevue Golf Sweeps Team Titles at South Puget Sound League Match
TUMWATER, Wash. - The Bellevue men's and women's golf teams swept the team titles at the South Puget Sound League Match, hosted at Tumwater Valley Golf Course on April 19-20.
The Bulldogs' men's team won by 14 strokes with an overall team to par score of +17. The women's team won a narrowly by three strokes with a two-round team to par score of +77.
The Bellevue men were incredibly consistent as a team with all four scorers in the top-eight out of over 50 competitors. Henry Mills was the team leader as he tied for thrid with a two-round score of 147, 3-over par. Isaac Elaimy placed fifth at 148, 4-over par, and Kai Lambro finished sixth at 149, 5-over par. Jack Leary rounded out the scoring for the Bulldogs in eighth at 151, 5-over par.
Skagit Valley's Logan Medcalf was the medalist as he shot 144, even-par for the tournament. He had matching round scores of 72. Spokane's Curtis Seidel placed second just two strokes back at 2-over par. Columbia Basin's Jake Raymond tied with Mills for third at 3-over par.
Columbia Basin finished second as a team at +31, followed by Skagit Valley in third at +33. Spokane took fourth at +39 while South Puget Sound finished fifth at +52.
On the women's side, Hadley McDonough won her third tournament of the season and second league match for the Bulldogs. She won by six strokes, led by the lowest round of the tournament, shooting 77 in the first round. She finished with a two-round score of 159, 15-over par. Kari Petterson tied for fifth for Bellevue at +28.
Southwestern Oregon's Savannah Doughty placed second at +21, followed by Columbia Basin's McKenzie Stanley in third at +23. Grace Callas placed fourth for SWOCC at +27 and Skagit Valley's Kiana Schroeder tied for fifth with Petterson at +28.
On the team side, the Lakers placed second at +80 as they nearly closed the gap against Bellevue with the best second round as a team. Columbia Basin took third at +82, followed by Spokane in fourth at +93 and Skagit Valley in fifth at +105.
Through three league matches this season, Bellevue leads the standings on both the men's and women's side. On the men's side, the Bulldogs lead by three points with 22.5 team points, followed by Skagit Valley in second with 19.5, Spokane in third with 19 and Columbia Basin in fourth with 16.
On the women's side, the Bulldogs have 22 points, narrowly leading SW Oregon by one point, followed by Spokane in third with 16 and Skagit Valley in fourth with 15.
